The John Utaka football academy have signed a memorandum of understanding with Brighter school, Minna to nurture young footballer. The pact according to the management of the academy is to allow students in the academy to also attend conventional school and still continue with their training.
Speaking during the signing in Minna, Niger state capital, the Vice President of the academy, Usman Abubakar Chata said they are in the school to sign contract with brighter school to catch students who are interested in football young.
“We dropped proposal to so many schools in the state but only Brighter School is the only one that responded.
“Our plan is to catch them young by getting students involved in sports while we also get students in our academy register in the school because we have had complaints from parents who said they would want their children to attend school as they are in the academy.
“With the signing of the MoU the academy will be part of the school. It is a win-win kind of pact for us,” Chata said.
Responding, the Director of the school, Mr Joshua Omeiza, expressed happiness with the signing saying that they are ready to partner with academy to nurture talents. “We hope to have prosperous collaboration with the academy and we believe students participating is great in the academy training will provide them great opportunity in life,” he said.
