POLICE ARREST OF TWO SUSPECTED THIEVES FROM IMO IN MINNA

Police Operatives attached to Chanchaga Division arrested one Akrakra Nwakonebi aged 32yrs and Stanley Anozie aged 42yrs both ‘m’ of Imo State.

The two suspects were arrested at Pogo area of Paiko, Paikoro LGA for attempting to steal from a parked vehicle. The said Akrakra Nwakonebi claimed to be a transporter who conveyed six passengers including his friend Stanley Anozie from Suleja to Minna in a Toyota Sienna vehicle with Reg. No. KUJ 530 BF.

On getting to Tunga area in Minna, after dropping the passengers, Stanley instructed Akrakra to park the vehicle while he dropped and attempted to gain access into a parked vehicle with intent to steal money and other valuables therefrom. An alarm was raised by passers-by which made him ran back into their vehicle and Akrakra drove off. They were pursued and arrested by the Police at Pogo area.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime. Case under investigation and suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded. Members of the public are once again admonished to always keep their monies and valuables out of the glare of the public and should always ensure their vehicles are locked to avoid easy access by thieves.
