Executive Chairman/CEO of Federal Inland Revenue Services, FIRS, Muhammad Nami, recently received the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Ms Yewande Sadiku who led a team of NIPC on a courtesy call to Revenue house. The visit was aimed at strengthening the long-standing institutional relationship between FIRS and NIPC.
At the meeting both Chief Executives discussed areas of mutual interest and concern, exchanging views in particular on Nigeria’s economic development, investment incentives and institutional cooperation. They also acknowledged recent reforms in the administration of the Pioneer Status Incentive (PSI).
The Chief Executives agreed that a Technical Committee made up of staff staff of both agencies should among other things, progress the work on the reform of PSI and the review of the Industrial Development (Income Tax Relief) Act, which was no longer in tune with current realities.
