NSIEC RELEASES NOTICE OF OUTSTANDING COUNCILLORSHIP ELECTION

Niger State independent electoral commission (NSIEC) is set to conduct outstanding elections into various ward Councillorship positions in Niger State.

Counsel to People’s Democratic Party and it Candidates, Muhammad Ndayako said his client have waited for too long for those date.

The outstanding elections are either ordered by courts or death of winners as in the case of Pina ward of Shiroro and Kabo ward of Gurara LGAs respectively.

The release signed by the NSIEC chairman, gave the list of wards where elections will hold as follows:

“Katambako, Emi Sonfada Lukpan I and Sofada Lukpan Il Polling units of Mayaki Ndajiya Ward of Bida Local Govemment, and polling units of Edotsu ward of Katcna Local Govemment, Sahorami ward of Mashegu Local Government.

Gogata ward of Gbako Local Government, Pina ward of Shiroro Local Government, Daupe polling unit of Zuma west ward in Tafa Local Government.

Samboru unit of Kakuri ward in Rafi Local Government and Kabo ward of Gurara Local Govemment Area of Niger State, shall hold on Saturday 20th March, 2021.

“TAKE NOTICE that in respect of Edotsu ward of Katcha Local Govemment Council, the Election Petition Tribunal has disqualifed All Progressives Congress (APC) from participation in the bye-election.

Take further, that the delivery of Nomination Papers in respect of Pina ward of Shiroro Local Government Council and Kabo ward of Gurara Local Governtnent Council where the bye-election will be conducted as a result of death of the Councilors shall be at the Headquarters of the commission, Umaru Erena Road, P.M.B. 14, Minna, Niger State.”
