The Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Niger State Chapter has held its primary election on Sunday, 30th September, 2018 in Minna. A total of 2,809 Party delegates from 274 ward drawn from 25 local government areas of the state participated in the exercise.

Canditates who contested the primary election include Nigerian former Ambassador to South Africa and former deputy governor, Ahmed Musa Ibeto, Umar Muhammad Nasko, former chief of staff to Ex governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, Engr. Hannafi Sudan, Kontagora Prince and an associate of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Aminu Baka, Financial Expert and former director at MSC, and Umar Ahmed, an entrepreneur and business man.

Chairman congress committee, Dr. Baraka Sani announced the result, where she declared Umar Nasko winner after he pulled a total of 1,972 votes, other aspirants scored: Ibeto 516, Sudan 157, Baka 110 and Ahmed 24 votes.

The election was adjudged to be peaceful, free, fair and transparent.
