Eid-el-Kabir: Nasko says Mandate will be restored, Ruga, #RevolutionNow blown out of proportion

People’s Democratic party Gubernatorial candidate for Niger state in the 2019 election Umar Nasko has called on Nigerians to be resolute in prayers as they mark the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah festivities.

Nasko who made this known in a Message to Nigerlites and Nigerians, said he is a firm believer in the rule of law and democratic tenets, this he said is one reason why he has after the elections approached the election tribunal to tender all issues relating to forgeries and electoral malpractices he witnessed in the last Election, “I am confident in not too distant time our mandate to lead Niger state will be restored”

On the two key National issues at the front burner today, Nasko said the Ruga issue is an unnecessary distractions which should not have “raised nerves” if the Government had managed it well and all stakeholders’ input are well sought and adequately captured, Ruga is a by-word for transit camp, this has been since time immemorial, but Government can do better in future in communication with the public.

As for the #RevolutionNow just like Ruga (all words blown out of proportion by political mischief makers) pros and antis. All parties have valid points while the Government will do well in looking at the demands of the Pros which is about Good Governance and a good society for all, those against think the language is rather too harsh when especially coming out from an election. It is true we do not need any revolution but Nigerians need good governance, jobs, quality education, good take home pay and security.

The truth is that after the 2015 General Elections which saw opposition winning, one would expect that we have raised above election malpractices and shenanigans but the 2019 Elections leaves much to be desired, the harassment, and killings and the heated dimension the 2019 Election took will do no one any good.

However, Irrespective of the challenges and the short comings of that election, the best way to form a Government is through the ballot, through a transparent electoral process and only the Government can guaranty such.

I call on the Government to tolerate stiff and virile opposition, maintain law and order and set out measures to tackle banditry, criminality, ethnic tension and unnecessary upheavals through scietintific measures and tactics.

I also wish to call on Government to hasten facilitate release of all pro democracy activists and kidnapped persons by bandits.

By these I will especially mention Abubakar Idris (known on social media as Dadiyata), Omoyele Sowore, Leah Sharibu, our remaining Chibok girls and so many others yet unknown.

I pray Allah (swt) will bless our country, grant us peace and prosperity in #MovingForward
